Culture Moves Salone Mobility Fund calls now open
Kɔlchɔ de muv Salone/ Culture Moves Salone is an EU-funded programme supporting the development of Sierra Leone’s cultural and creative sectors. This Mobility Call for Proposals aims to strengthen professional skills, networks and market access for Sierra Leonean artists, cultural organisations and creative businesses through structured mobility and learning opportunities, with a strong focus on decentralisation beyond Freetown, youth and women empowerment, and partnerships across Africa.
Objectives of the call
The Call aims to:
Enable cultural and creative actors in Sierra Leone to access professional opportunities, networks, and markets;
Support skills development through mobility experiences and peer learning;
Promote decentralised participation across Sierra Leone;
Foster collaboration across Africa and South–South exchanges;

Eligibility – what we can support
What sectors are supported?
All cultural and creative sectors, spanning architecture, audiovisual/media, crafts, cultural heritage, design, fashion/textiles, film, literature, music, performing arts, publishing, and visual arts.
Who can be supported?
Cultural and creative sectors professionals, including, for example, artists, producers, managers, entrepreneurs, researchers, journalists, programmers, curators, etc, based in Sierra Leone.
Eligible applicants include:
Individual artists / cultural professionals / creatives;
Cultural organisations (NGOs, hubs, associations, collectives);
Public cultural institutions;
Creative businesses (registered or operating as structured entrepreneurial entities).
Applicants should be aged 18 years old and must be able to provide proof of residence in Sierra Leone
Which activities are supported?
All activities in the frame of career/project/organisational development spanning exploration, development, learning and connection purposes, i.e.:
Exploration: artistic research, inspiration, information/study trips, residencies.
Development: engage in a creative, production, dissemination process, spanning establishment and/or development of partnerships, collaborations, co-creations and/or co-productions; presentation of work in exhibitions, performances, showcases, festivals, etc.
Learning: formal and informal development of skills and knowledge such as participation in internships, masterclasses, workshops, exchanges, study trips, peer to peer learning.
Connection: develop professional contacts, networks, engage with new audiences, including participation in debates, conferences, seminars, festivals, trade shows/markets, network meetings.

The Salone Cultural Currents Mobility Call entails 3 different funds:

Plus Incubation Hub Fueling Africa’s Entrepreneurs: Apply Now for the Plus Factor Grant Program" Up to (₦1,000,000)
The programme targets idea-stage, early-stage, and growth-stage founders facing challenges such as limited access to finance, weak market linkages, and insufficient innovation support. It is open to entrepreneurs across industries and prioritises transparency, fairness, and measurable impact.
Applications will undergo a three-stage
evaluation process, including:

Winners will receive grant funding as follows:
N1 million for first place.
N500,000 for second place.
N250,000 for third place.
N150,000 for fourth place.

UNODA Young Women for Biosecurity Fellowship 2026 for young scientists (Fully Funded to Geneva, Switzerland)

Applications are now open for the UNODA Young Women for Biosecurity Fellowship. The United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA) in Geneva is delighted to launch a call for applications to the Fourth Edition of the Youth for Biosecurity Fellowship.
Since its establishment as a Biosecurity Diplomacy Workshop in 2019, the programme has engaged over 140 young scientists through an innovative and engaging training course. 20 competitively selected young scientists from the Global South will take part in a series of interactive webinars prior to an in-person visit during the meeting of the BWC Working Group on the Strengthening of the Convention in Geneva in August 2026.
The Fellowship aims to provide an opportunity for emerging biosecurity leaders from the Global South to:
Learn & Lead: Deepen your expertise on biosecurity and disarmament to build confidence and leadership.
Think & Act: Discuss perspectives with senior experts and develop practical proposals to strengthen biosecurity.
Engage & Connect: Network with young experts from across disciplines and regions within an international community.
Requirements
Be under 35 years old at the time of applying,
Be citizens of a BWC State Party listed as least developed country, low- or lower/upper middle-income country – Check if your country is in the Development Assistance Committee List of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
Have an advanced degree in the life sciences or a related discipline from a recognized university or institution.
Have proof of proficiency in written and spoken English to a level of B2 or higher (Global scale – Table 1 (CEFR 3.3): Common Reference levels – Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).), with a certificate of confirmation to be provided.

Fellowship Details
The Fellowship runs over a 3-month period and requires a minimal time commitment to accommodate fellows’ work or academic schedules. You must be available to attend and engage in all of the activities below:
A series of five online webinars from 3 June to 1 July 2026, with approximately one session (two hours) per week. They will take place on Wednesdays, from 2pm (CET) except for the opening webinar at 3pm (CET).
A collaborative scientific poster competition project to prepare in July 2026 and to be presented at the BWC Working Group on the Strengthening of the Convention in August 2026.
A five-day in-person visit in Geneva from 17 to 21 August 2026 during the meetings of the BWC Working Group on the Strengthening of the Convention. Participants must participate in the visit in full.

Participants will engage in intensive, hands-on training focused on converting raw agricultural produce—specifically vegetables, spices, and peppers—into high-value, market-ready products. The curriculum is meticulously crafted to equip fellows with practical skills in processing, preservation, packaging, branding, and basic business management.
